Make-A-Wish: Taylor Hay’s letter writing campaign
The Make-A-Wish “Season of Wishes” campaign is in full swing and on this Wednesday evening more than 20 Make-A-Wish kids and their families are enjoying a special holiday celebration with a night of skating at the Hotel Del Coronado at the hotel's seaside ice rink.
Local wish kid Taylor Hay was the Make-A-Wish ambassador at “National Believe Day” last week at Plaza Bonita.
Taylor was granted her wish last year when she got a speaking part in the animated movie “Yes Virginia.” Last week, she started a letter writing campaign that was so successful it helped raise more than 25-thousand dollars.
Taylor encouraged San Diegans to submit letters to Macy's about why they believe in the spirit of the holidays.
“Make-A-Wish gave me the idea of starting my own letter writing campaign and I said yeah, sure anything to give back, so just a small idea turned into this huge event around here,” said Taylor.
You can still submit letters to Macy's through December 24th. For each letter received, Macy's will donate one dollar to Make-A-Wish.
