Malcom Floyd ready to be back in action
September 15th – a scary moment for the Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd.
“I thought I actually caught the ball, but that wasn’t the case and then my neck was just hurting. I went to the doctors and all that stuff, and then you get the news that you’re out the whole season. It’s tough, I could be there for the guys the whole season. It was stressful watching it on TV. If I was healthy, I know I could help them out,” says Malcom Floyd of his neck injury.
Last week, he returned to the Bolts facility to begin OTA’s.
“Just seeing the guys and working out with the guys already, it’s sort of emotional. You just got to hold stuff back, but it’s been so great being back out here.”
Malcom’s decision to come back to the football field was an easy one, but getting there was the challenge.
“Biking, band work and stuff like that. Just listening to what the doctors said and they will take care of you. I’m in good hands here, like I said before, with James Collins (Chargers trainer), and they got be going pretty good. I’m really excited about OTA’s and this upcoming season.”
Throughout his 9 years in the NFL, he has dealt with multiple injuries, but the risk is worth the reward.
“The only time that you get to prove that you’re one of the greatest athletes in the world is on this stage here and that’s what I love to do. I want to prove that I’m one of the premier athletes in the world, as well as be a championship to the city.”
