Man and woman found shot in apparent murder-suicide

SAN MARCOS (CNS) – A man and a woman were shot to death inside a San
Marcos home early Monday in what is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, authorities said.

Deputies received a call about a suicide at a home in the 100 block of
Valpreda Road at 12:19 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's homicide
Sgt. David Martinez.

They arrived at the home and found the bodies of a man and a woman in a
bedroom, he said. Both had been shot.

Family members of at least one of the deceased were in the home during
the shooting but were uninjured, Martinez said.

The motive for the shooting was under investigation. There were no
outstanding suspects, Martinez said.

The man apparently lived in the home with his parents and had a toddler-age daughter with the woman, according to news reports. A friend of the man's
told reporters that the couple had been having relationship troubles.
