Man arrested after leading police on car chase through Encanto

ENCANTO (KUSI) – A man was arrested and hospitalized after leading San Diego Police on car chase through Encanto Wednesday night.

According to SDPD, an officer ran the plate of a white Prius at a stop light just after 7 p.m. and discovered that the vehicle was stolen.

The officer tried to stop the car, but the driver kept going, leading police on a chase for about 10 minutes.

The Prius hit as many as three parked vehicles before coming to a stop outside of the 5500 block of Dream St. 

The driver would not exit the vehicle so police broke a window and sent in a K-9 unit. 

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
