Man arrested after meth bust

PINE VALLEY (CNS) – A 43-year-old Mexican national was caught in Pine Valley driving an SUV with more than $400,000 worth of methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle’s undercarriage, authorities said Friday.

The man was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Interstate 8 checkpoint in Pine Valley about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

A drug-sniffing dog alerted agents to the contraband, which weighed 48.15 pounds and had a street value of $433,350, the agency said in a statement.
