Man arrested for bank robbery attempt

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A San Diego man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of making a failed attempt to rob a North Park bank.

Steven Demetrious Glenn, 48, allegedly handed a demand note to a teller at a Bank of America branch office in the 3100 block of University Avenue shortly after noon Thursday, according to the FBI. The clerk refused to comply, walked off and reported what had happened, and the suspect left empty-handed, officials said.

Patrol officers responding to the emergency call found Glenn walking nearby, saw that he matched the description of the robber and took him into custody. After bank employees identified him as the alleged bandit, Glenn was arrested, the FBI reported.
