Man arrested for firing gun in college area restaurant

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of firing one shot inside a chicken wing restaurant in the College Area, but no one was struck by the gunfire.

It happened inside Dirty Birds Bar and Grill, 6499 El Cajon Blvd., around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

The shot went through a wall — narrowly missing some cooks in the kitchen — then the gunman ran off, Buttle said.

Officers found the suspected gunman, whose name and age were not available, a few blocks away and arrested him, Buttle said.
