Man dies after falling 25 feet from apartment complex

FALLBROOK (CNS) – A man locked himself out of his second-story apartment in Fallbrook, tried to climb in a window and plummeted 25 feet to his death early Saturday.

The apparent accident was at 12:25 a.m. at an apartment complex on Ammunition Road near Alturas Road, Sheriff’s Lt. Jim Walker said.

“A man, who had accidentally locked himself out of his apartment, tried to climb up through an open window and fell about 25 feet,” Walker said. “He struck his head and died from a head injury.”

The Medical Examiner withheld the name of the victim until his family is notified. But htye said he was in his 30s.

Walker said alcohol may have been a factor in the accidental death.
