Man dies during rescue attempts after falling through sea bluffs in Point Loma

POINT LOMA (KUSI) — A 65-year-old male who fell from the sea bluffs on Sunset Boulevard Tuesday afternoon died during rescue attempts, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

SDFD received a call at 2:45 p.m. to the 700 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard that a male, age unknown, had fallen through the cliffs.

When crews first arrived on scene, the man was unconscious and crews began CPR. The man regained consciousness, but was not stable enough to be hoisted up.

According to SDFD, the man again lost consciousness and crews used an AED to revive him, but he was pronounced dead on scene.

The man’s identity was not immediately known.
