Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Rancho Santa Fe

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 51-year-old Oceanside man died in a one-car crash Friday evening in Rancho Santa Fe, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision occurred within the 4900 block of La Granada Road at approximately 5:01 PM when the driver veered off the roadway to the north and struck a tree that was located adjacent to the roadway for reasons unknown.

Fire crews responded to the scene and transported the man to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla where he later died from his injuries.

This incident remains under investigation.
