Man drowns after jumping off boat near Coronado

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Harbor police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 23-year-old Oakland man in San Diego Bay.

Alexander Thomas Glenn was pronounced dead about 7:20 p.m. Saturday after being pulled out of the water by a diver, according to San Diego Harbor police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Glenn was with a group of friends jumping into the water from a boat. He went in and failed to resurface, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.

It took the diver about 40 minutes to find Glenn near the Coronado end of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge, said Harbor police Lt. Kirk Nichols.
