Man falls 40-feet in a canyon at Black’s Beach
LA JOLLA (CNS) – A 23-year-old man fell about 40 feet and was badly hurt in a canyon near the cliffs at Black’s Beach.
The man fell while at Box Canyon with a companion around 2:45 p.m., according to San Diego lifeguard Lt. Rich Stropky.
Lifeguards and firefighters responded to the vicinity of La Jolla Farms Road and Black Gold Road, then hoisted the injured man to safety. He was flown to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla to be treated for “major trauma,” Stropky said.
