Man found dead in El Cajon swimming pool

EL CAJON (CNS) – Police were investigating the death of a man whose body
was found in a swimming pool Monday in the 1000 block of Terrace Crest.

“A woman woke up, saw a body in her pool, and called us about 8:12
a.m.,” said El Cajon Police Lt. Tim Henton. “When we got there he had been
dead for quite some time.”

Henton said police received a couple of calls from residents in the same
area earlier at 4 a.m. reporting a man “running around in the neighborhood.”

“We sent units out but they couldn't find him, he may have been hiding
out,” said Henton. “The body in the pool this morning fits the description of
that man.”

Henton said there was no sign of trauma on the drowning victim's body.

“It looked like he may have been running through these yards and ended
up by accident in a pool,” Henton said. “One of the neighbors who saw him
said he looked like he might have been under the influence of drugs.”

An investigation is continuing.
