Man found dead near trolley tracks in Lemon Grove identified

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Authorities released the name Wednesday of a homicide victim whose body turned up last weekend near a set of trolley tracks in Lemon Grove.

Dale Wheeler was found dead shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday in a patch of shrubbery off San Miguel Avenue, near Olive Street. The 55-year-old Lemon Grove resident’s body bore signs of suspicious injuries, according to sheriff’s officials.

An autopsy determined that Wheeler had been slain, Lt. John Maryon said, but he declined to disclose the cause of death.

No suspects have been identified in the case, according to Maryon.
