Man found shot in car on Pala Indian Reservation

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A 56-year-old man is dead after a shooting at the Pala Indian Reservation just after midnight Monday, according to authorities.

San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies from Valley Center were called to the reservation in North County and found a man shot numerous times in the vehicle he was sitting in, Sheriff Homicide Sgt. Todd Norton said.

Paramedics responded and attempted to save the man’s life at the residential scene at 11900 block of Ortega Road, but he died at the scene, Norton said.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene and is expected to release the man’s name after the family has been notified. No information was released on a suspect.
