Man killed in motorcycle accident near Warner Springs identified

WARNER SPRINGS (KUSI) — Authorities publicly identified the 59-year-old man killed in a motorcycle crash on state Route 79 Tuesday.

It appeared that David Emory McDaniel of Murrieta lost control of his Harley-Davidson and crossed into oncoming traffic on a widening stretch of the SR-79 near Chihuahua Valley Road early Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

McDaniel’s bike crashed into the front of a Ford E350 camper. As McDaniel’s bike crossed into on-coming traffic, a driver attempted to hit the brakes and swerve out of the way but McDaniel crashed into the truck, authorities said. McDaniel was ejected and died at the scene.
