Man opens fire in Gaslamp District, no reports of injuries

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man on a sidewalk opened fire on a moving car in
downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter early Monday but it was unknown whether
anyone was struck, police said.

The shooting on Sixth Avenue at E Street occurred about 2 a.m.,
according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The gunman opened fire on a passing silver car that continued on after
shots rang out, he said, adding it was unclear whether anyone in the car was
injured because the vehicle was gone when help arrived.

The gunman also fled immediately following the gunfire, driving off in a
black Nissan Sentra, Delimitros said, describing him as black, in his 30s,
heavyset and wearing a plaid shirt.

At least one bullet pierced a storefront across the street but damage
was minor, Delimitros said.
