Man pleads not guilty to shooting brother to death

VISTA (CNS) – A man accused of shooting his brother at a home in San Marcos pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a murder charge.

Fermin Olano, 45, was ordered held on $1 million bail.

The defendant called 911 to summon help for the victim about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego County sheriff’s Lt. John Maryon. Deputies and paramedics arrived at 1325 Granite Road and found 46-year-old Fernando Olano dead inside the residence, he said.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
