Man pronounced dead after being pulled from Bonita Cove waters
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — 5:20 p.m. — A man pulled out of Bonita Cove was pronounced dead at UC San Diego Hospital today, a San Diego Lifeguard Service official said. The coroner’s office is investigating the man’s official cause of death.
3:17 p.m. — San Diego lifeguards pulled an unresponsive man from the water in Bonita Cove Saturday, according to an official.
The man was found floating face down in Bonita Cove sometime before 12:30 p.m. off West Mission Bay Drive and Bayside Lane, said Lt. Rick Romero of
San Diego Lifeguard Service. The man, in his late 40s, was only about 10-to-15 feet away from the shore, Romero said.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man, but there was no heartbeat, said Romero, who added the man was taken to UC San Diego Hospital. Romero said further details on the man’s condition were not available.
