Man robbed in La Mesa motel parking lot
LA MESA (CNS) – A man was struck in his head and robbed of his wallet and car keys by two men in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in La Mesa early Monday, police said.
The robbery at 7621 Alvarado Road was reported just before 2:30 a.m., according to La Mesa police.
The victim told officers he was walking to his car when he was struck in the head from behind and knocked to the ground, police said in a statement.
Two men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts took the victim's wallet and car keys, then ran to a waiting vehicle parked on Alvarado Road, police said. The getaway vehicle was last seen headed east.
The victim suffered minor injuries, according to police.
