Man shot dead on East Main Street in El Cajon
EL CAJON (KUSI) – A shooting on an East County roadside about a mile west of Granite Hills High School left a man dead Thursday.
The gunfire in the 1400 block of East Main Street in El Cajon was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m., according to police.
Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, said Sonny Saghera, spokesman for Heartland Fire & Rescue.
The circumstances of the shooting were unclear at midday. There was no immediate word of an arrest in the case, but police stated in the late morning that there were “no outstanding suspects at this time.”
Officers closed the street between Madison Avenue and Walter Way to allow investigators to document evidence.
