Man shot in Linda Vista
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A 25-year-old man was shot in the ankle in an apparent gang-related attack in Linda Vista early Wednesday, police said.
The shooting in the 6500 block of Tate Street was reported just before 1:30 a.m., said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The victim was standing in a group of men in a driveway when a dark BMW with three men inside pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Delimitros said, adding that the car sped off eastbound following the shots.
No one else was injured.
Gang detectives were investigating this morning’s shooting.
Though it was not immediately clear whether the two were related, another shooting that occurred in the Valencia Park area less than 10 hours earlier was also being investigated by gang detectives today.
About 4 p.m. Tuesday, a group of men in the 6100 block of Alderley Street was fired upon by someone inside a tan Audi sedan, Delimitros said.
Two 30-something men in the group were wounded in the shooting, he said, adding that were each struck in a leg. Both were expected to survive.
