Man shot in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS (CNS) – An investigation was under way Friday in San Marcos, where a 37-year-old man was shot in the shoulder while standing at the end of a residential street talking with other men, authorities said.

The shooting at the end of La Rosa Drive was reported at 9:47 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. Henry Lebitski.

Upon being shot, the victim ran to the nearby 600 block of Starstone Drive, where he found people standing outside and asked for help, the sergeant said in a statement.

Paramedics took the victim to Palomar Medical Center to treat a gunshot wound to his left shoulder, Lebitski said.

No information about the shooter was immediately available, except that he or she appeared to have been somewhere north of where the victim was standing when shots were fired.
