Man stabbed near Otay Mesa trolley station

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Gang detectives Tuesday investigated the stabbing of a man near a San Diego Trolley stop in Otay Mesa, police said.

The stabbing in the 3100 block of Iris Avenue was reported at 7:54 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings.

The victim, a man in his 20s, had just exited the San Diego Trolley when he was confronted by several men and issued a gang challenge, the sergeant said in a statement.

“As the victim tried to run away, he was stabbed in the torso by one of the suspects,” Jennings said. “His injuries are not considered life-threatening.”
