Man suspected of robbing a Linda Vista bank arrested

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man suspected of robbing a Linda Vista bank Friday was arrested a short time later at a construction site a few blocks away.

Arturo Navarro, 26, allegedly confronted a teller at the Bank of America branch office in the 2300 block of Ulric Street and demanded cash shortly before 10:30 a.m., then fled with an undisclosed amount of money on a BMX-style bicycle, according to San Diego police.

A witness directed officers to a Garston Street property where an apartment complex is being built, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said. The patrol personnel searched the site, found Navarro and took him into custody.
