Man who fatally stabbed estranged wife in 2014 sentenced to 20 years to life in prison
VISTA (KUSI) – The man who fatally stabbed his estranged wife in 2014 was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison Tuesday.
Pedro Rosalino Zurita, 50, pleaded guilty for the second-degree murder of Ariflor Gonzalez, his wife of 22 years.
The couple, who had four children together, separated in December 2013.
Deputy District Attorney Susan Gust, Zurita had attempted to reconcile with Gonzalez, but had been rebuffed.
Surveillance cameras captured Zurita chasing Gonzalez through a parking lot at a business park on Van Allen Way.
Gonzalez was stabbed more than 30 times and left in the parking lot.
Zurita was arrested about an hour later.
