Man wounded in U.S. Marshal-involved shooting in Pt. Loma

POINT LOMA (CNS) – A suspected murderer was shot in his shoulder by U.S. Marshals in a residential neighborhood on Point Loma Monday, police said.

The shooting was reported at 1661 Catalina Blvd. at 8:35 a.m., according to San Diego police Detective Gary Hassen.

San Diego police were assisting the U.S. Marshals Service in the aftermath of the shooting, he said.

Paramedics took the wounded man to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher said. He was apparently alive but no medical condition was announced.

The man was shot while agents were trying to take him into custody on suspicion of murder, authorities at the scene said.

No identity was immediately released.
