Recap: Foothills Christian vs. Maranatha Christian
Maranatha Christian Eagles hosted the Foothills Christian Knights with the Rancho Bernardo mountains cast as the stage for the backdrop. The game, commencing with the most beautiful national anthem I’ve heard, Knight cheer Laura Gray, following an opening prayer to kick the game off.
The Eagles warmly welcomed Isaac Schwan who connected early in the first with Christian Cortez for a 16-yard touchdown catch and then he kicked the PAT to put them on the board 7-0.
Maranatha Dominated as Christian Cortez connected with 2 other receivers, Matt DeWidt and Metro Henning, with three total touchdown for the game.
However the score didn’t indicate, the Knights put up a big fight, some big plays, passion and persistence. QB, Wyatt Basson was quite impressive so vigilant and mobile keeping plays alive with his feet and his arm, kid plays with a lot of heart. Much light ahead with this young team and new coaching staff a lot of potential on the horizon
Tonight it was all the Eagles though holding down their home turf with a strong34-0 win and bringing them to 2-1 for the season.
