March likely to be the hottest March on record since 1872

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – This March will likely break the record of the hottest March since 1872.

The temperatures are recorded at Lindbergh Field San Diego and at least seven days this month topped 80 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service said 1947 and 1988 were the previous March record holders.

The daily high temperature dropped below average just twice this month.

The average temperature for March was 66.6 degrees which is 1.1 degrees higher than the average March high in the last 143 years.
