Marine training at Camp Pendleton will be noisy this weekend
CAMP PENDLETON (CNS) – Artillery units at Camp Pendleton are conducting live-fire training this weekend, causing loud booms to be heard in surrounding communities, base officials said.
Artillery units are scheduled to train from 6 a.m. until midnight today and Sunday, according to Camp Pendleton's public affairs office, which said Sunday's training will include mortars.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, noise from the training can be heard up to 50 miles away.
