Masked gunman robs Carlsbad bank
CARLSBAD (CNS) – A gun-toting masked man in business attire robbed a
North County bank Monday morning.
The thief, who appeared to be in his mid-30s, entered the Silvergate
Bank office in the 5800 block of El Camino Real in Carlsbad shortly before 10
a.m. with a black pistol in his hand and ordered everyone inside to get on the
floor, according to the FBI. He then demanded cash from two tellers and fled
with an undisclosed amount of money.
Witnesses described the bandit as a bearded, athletic-looking, roughly 6-
foot black man with a bald head. He was carrying an attache case with a
shoulder strap and wearing dark-colored slacks, a white dress shirt, a striped
tie and a black glove on his left hand.
The robber pulled some type of fabric over the lower part of his face
before entering the bank, authorities said.
