Masked gunman robs University Heights market

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Police were on the lookout today for a masked gunman who held up a University Heights neighborhood market, an officer said.

The suspect entered the Pola Market at 3276 Monroe Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, displayed a shotgun and demanded cash, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

He ran off with an undisclosed amount and headed north through an alley, Delimitros said.

Police described the robber as black, and about 5 feet 9 with a thin build. He was wearing a mask, a dark hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gloves.
