Massive decline of Republican Party in California
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Republican Party in California shows no signs of becoming a viable party.
Once again, it failed to gain ground in the election. In fact, it sunk deeper into irrelevancy as the Democrats regained a super majority in both the Senate and Assembly. The party failed to offer an alternative to the Trump factor which split the party nationally, and in California.
While there are areas of the country where the Republican brand and support for President Trump is solid, that is not the case in California.
The discrepancy is between the Republican brand of politics and what Californian’s want, so Republicans remain a distinct minority.
California Republicans simply could not adjust to the Trump factor, and it drowned out their traditional themes of less government, less taxes, and fiscal responsibility.
Unless the Republicans unify around that message the party will remain a minority in California.
