Mayor Faulconer: City Council’s decision to reject special election ‘irresponsible’

The San Diego City Council rejected Monday putting Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s proposal to increase the Transient Occupancy Tax and allocate funds to expanding the convention center expansion and programs to address homelessness and road repairs on a special election ballot this November. While in Washington, D.C. Tuesday, Mayor Faulconer said the City Council rejected the special election for the wrong reasons and was ignoring the will of the people. Watch the full interview.
