Mayor Wells: SANDAG’s Regional Transportation Plan is another union payoff

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – SANDAG’s $163 billion Regional Transportation Plan is one of the biggest public works projects in the history of the United States, rivaling the construction of the national interstate system at its original conception.

This massive project was likely proposed with hidden motives, says Mayor Bill Wells, who believes the plan is meant as a major payoff to the county’s unions.

Wells joined KUSI’s Lauren Phinney to discuss the issue.
