Members of Rideshare Drivers United rally in favor of AB 5 enforcement with Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Members of Rideshare Drivers United are rallying as representatives deliver wage and hour claims to the California Labor Commission office to ensure enforcement of AB 5.
AB 5 is the law written by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, it establishes strict criteria for businesses to claim that workers are independent contractors/freelancers.
KUSI has been inviting people who have benefited and/or been hurt by the legislation. All of our AB 5 coverage can be seen here: www.kusi.com/ab5
The Rideshare Drivers United organization says they are a group of about 10,000 Lyft and Uber drivers across California.
KUSI’s Sasha Foo attended the rally to find out what attendees had to say.
