Memorial celebrating the life of Hodad’s owner, Mike Hardin

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – It was a big farewell to the Bossman.

Petco Park was filled Saturday with folks celebrating the life of Mike Hardin, the owner of Hodad’s in Ocean Beach.

Hardin passed away suddenly last month.

Guy Fieri from “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” who featured Hodad’s and it’s burgers on his show, was at the memorial.

“I don’t think that Einstein could define the power of Mike Hardin. look at all of us here, enjoying the sunny day. People traveled from all over the country, all over the world to be here. This is the true example of the power of the Bossman. He always stopped and took the time to make it personal and keep it real and be genuine. I think after today we’ll be able to walk away and be more like that,” Fieri said.

Hardin’s parents opened Hodad’s in 1969 and Hardin took over the business in the 80’s and expanded it to three locations.
