Memorial proposed for PSA Flight 182 crash
It's been more than 35 years since the deadliest plane accident in California history happened right here in San Diego.
But all these years later, there's still no memorial at the crash site for the victims of PSA Flight 182. A group of San Diegans wants to change that.
The PSA 182 Memorial Committee met in North Park Wednesday night to gather community support for the proposed memorial.
A total of 144 people died when Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182 collided with a Cessna aircraft over North Park in September 1978. At the time, it was the worst aviation disaster on U.S. soil.
