Military service members come together for Wreaths Across America
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the nonprofit coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,600 locations across the country at sea and abroad as part of their mission to “Remember, Honor and Teach.”
Wreath-laying ceremonies are planned at local cemeteries including, Miramar National Cemetery, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery along with Valley Center Cemetery, Fallbrook Masonic, Oak Hill, Greenwood and Glen Abbey Memorial Parks.
The annual event remembers fallen military veterans, honors active military service members and their families, and teaches children the value of freedom.
A contingent of teenage boys and mentors from Boys to Men Mentoring Network will participate in Wreaths Across America. Fifteen teenage boys and two mentors will pay their respects by laying sponsored wreaths on the graves of fallen military heroes.
