Mira Mesa SWAT stand-off ends peacefully
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – An 18-year-old woman was hospitalized for a psychological evaluation Wednesday following a three-and-a-half hour SWAT standoff in Mira Mesa, police said.
Officers were called to a home in the 9000 block of Clover Circle shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police.
Officers learned that the woman became enraged during an argument with family members and grabbed a knife, prompting her relatives to flee the home, SDPD Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The woman refused to come out of the home, and negotiators and SWAT members were called to the scene, he said in a statement.
Around 8 p.m., she surrendered peacefully.
