Missing Mt. Hope woman found safe

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A retirement-age woman who went missing over the weekend safely returned to her home Monday.

Loretta Frederick, 73, disappeared Saturday after she left a friend’s home at 44th and K streets in the Mount Hope area of San Diego, according to sheriff’s officials.

Frederick, in the early stages of dementia, told family members that she was going to take a bus to go shopping and to a casino, authorities said, adding that when she failed to return the next day, her daughter reported her missing.

Sheriff’s deputies declined to say where she was.
