Mission Bay student arrested after bringing pellet gun to school

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A student at Mission Bay High School was taken into
custody Friday for bringing an Airsoft gun to campus, police said.

Officers were called to the campus at 2475 Grand Ave. around 8:15 a.m.,
according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

Officers were alerted to the situation by a parent who received a text
from his or her child earlier in the morning, sharing that someone had brought
a gun to school, Cali said.

The student with the Airsoft gun was quickly found and taken into
custody, he said. The motive was unclear.
