Mixed Martial Arts Fighter From San Diego Restrains Suspected Burglar

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A man suspected of burglarizing a City Heights home was taken down by a resident who also happened to be an experienced mixed martial arts fighter.

Sergio Hernandez reportedly returned home with his dad when he noticed a window was open, the screen on the ground, and a man in their backyard.

Hernandez, a Baret Yoshida Black Belt, approached the suspect who said he was just running from a dog.

The suspect then took off but Hernandez managed to catch up to him, threw him to the ground, and put him in a triangle choke.

The video of the incident recorded by a neighbor has gone viral; being viewed more than 100 thousand times.
