Mob attacks a man, stabs another

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A mob of about five to 10 suspects kicked and punched one man to unconsciousness and stabbed another one in the back during an attack in the City Heights section of San Diego, a police officer said Sunday.

The victims, one described as a man in his 20s, were chased by the suspects in the 4000 block Cherokee Avenue just prior to the attack, said San Diego police officer Robert Heims. The suspects were between 16 and 20 years old.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 11:31 p.m. Saturday, Heims said.

Paramedics rushed both victims to an area hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known. There was no other immediate information.
