Mobile Home fire under investigation as possible arson, De Anza Cove

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego Police and the San Diego Fire Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) were investigating a mobile home fire that may have been intentionally set early Wednesday morning. 

Police officers were first on scene and reported heavy flames showing. Officers helped locate and evacuate the occupants of the home.

Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. A male was detained in handcuffs in the back of a patrol car, but the exact means and intention are unclear at this time.

Neighbors told officers that he was acting strangely all day.

He was later transported to the hospital, for what appeared to be minor injuries to his arms and possibly smoke inhalation.

Details are still under investigation.
