Monetary grant to help fight underage drinking
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – There is a new effort to stop underage drinking. It comes in the form of a $75,000 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to the San Diego County Sheriffs Department.
KUSI video shows a decoy, a young teenager, asking an adult to buy alcohol. The adult agrees, and is then arrested.
Lt. Glenn Diannantonio with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department says he's seen it many times before.
A $75,000 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control , or ABC, allows the Sheriff's Department to better crack down on this and other alcohol violations.
The grant is yet another effort to enforce a zero tolerance policy. If you work in a liquor store or a bar and sell to a minor, or commit one of a number of alcohol violations, you are going to face the law.
