Social media movement helps link parents to baby formula amid shortage

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – More baby formula is set to arrive in the US from Germany on Wednesday, as part of “Operation Fly Formula”.

On Wednesday, the FDA will be answering questions from the US House about the nationwide formula shortage as lawmakers try to find out exactly what led up to the shortage, how it trickled down and became so large.

Overseas shipments of formula will take a few weeks before you actually see the product on store shelves.

The out of stock percentage for baby formula stood at 45% nationwide just last week.

The concern and frustration has led many moms taking matters into their own hands, trying to find different ways to get their hands on formula.

On “Good Evening San Diego” KUSI’s Hunter Sowards was live in Escondido with the latest on the baby formula shortage.
