More than 600,000 doses of flu shots given throughout SD County

SAN DIEGO (KUSI)-Many people in San Diego County are getting their flu shots. Local health providers reported giving more than 600,000 doses, which is 30% more than last year.

This past year more than 300 flu-related deaths were reported in San Diego County. Now citizens are taking extra precaution for infants and those over the age of 65.

Public Health Officer for the county of San Diego, Dr. Wilma Wooten talks to KUSI about the increased number of flu vaccinations.
