More than 7,000 customers without power in Mid City neighborhoods

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Power has been restored after more than 7,000 San Diego Gas and Electric customers in the Mid-City area were without power Tuesday evening.

SDG&E reported 7,479 customers in the Normal Heights, University Heights, Kensington, Talmadge, Chollas Creek, Oak Park and North Park neighborhoods were without power as of around 5:45 p.m.

Power was restored at around 6:45 pm., according to the utility. The cause of the outage was a failed overhead switch.
