Mother sends letter to Sackler family after son’s opioid overdose

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – In 2005, Aaron suffered an accidental Oxycontin overdose and, today, he is a quadriplegic.

Now, Aaron cannot speak and needs 24-hour care. His family is speaking out for him in a heart-wrenching letter to the Sackler family, the founders and owners of Purdue Pharma, which many blame for the opioid crisis.

Sherrie Rubin, Aaron’s mother, was at KUSI to tell us more.

Sherrie Rubin is also the Director of the Hope2gether Foundation (www.Hope2gether.org) & Executive Committee Member of the San Diego Rx Abuse Task Force (www.Sandiegorxabusetaskforce.org)
